mover, maker, facilitator
I am a dance artist, maker and facilitator living and working in the North East of England.
Having gained my BA at Dance City Training Academy and completing my MA in Dance Performance at The London Contemporary Dance School, I have been fortunate enough to learn from Artists such as Mathieu Geffre, Lizzie Klotz, Gavin Coward, Hannes Langolf, Horacio Macuacua and Mentor Theo Clinkard.
I work within performance, dance facilitation, community dance practice, and arts admin with a focus on dance making and choreographic research.
I am interested in research surrounding the Body as Archive, impacting my choreographic and facilitation work through unpicking body memory and exploring our capabilities and limitations.
My practice and values are solidly centred around kindness and care, in the aim of creating optimum conditions in dance for performance, dance making and dance education. Working with care in mind feels ongoing and is something I strive towards in my everyday practice. I aim to deliver with care and kindness to those I teach, collaborate with and work with, but mostly, I aim to work with myself as an artist kindly too.
